Student Agreement 1. Payment: Students must pay class/workshop fees before the start of the class/workshop. 2. Termination: Either DDI or the student can terminate the agreement at any time, with or without cause. Cancellation and refund terms are provided separately. 3. Liability Release: Students release DDI and Ralph’s Industrial Sewing Machine Supply Co Inc. from any liability arising from the use of equipment, services, or physical space during their activities at DDI. 4. Machinery Compliance: Students must always comply with machinery instructions/warnings and instructor instructions. 5. Cancellation & Refund Policy: The agreement details the cancellation and refund policy, which includes provisions for full refunds, credits, and circumstances under which refunds may be issued. Cancellation 14 Days Before Class Start Date:  If a cancellation request is received at least 14 days before the class or workshop's start date, DDI will issue a full refund.  However, a $5.00 processing fee and any PayPal fees incurred will be deducted from the refund amount. Cancellation 1-13 Days Before Class Start Date:  If a cancellation request is received between 1 and 13 days before the class or workshop's start date, DDI will not issue a refund.  Instead, DDI will provide a full credit that can be used for another class or membership. Cancellations on or After the Start Date of the Class:  If a cancellation is requested on or after the start date of the class or workshop, no refund will be issued.  However, there is an exception: If the class is already full at the time of cancellation, and the student's slot can be filled by another participant, DDI will issue a credit for another class or membership, either in part or in full. Class Postponement or Cancellation by DDI:  If a class is postponed due to circumstances such as weather conditions, a stadium game, or the instructor falling ill, the rescheduling of the class will be at the discretion of DDI and the instructor(s).  If DDI cancels a class session for any reason, a full refund will be issued to the affected students. 6. DDI's Right to Cancel Classes/Workshops: 1. DDI reserves the right to cancel classes or workshops without notice. 2. In such cases, full or partial refunds/credits may be issued at the discretion of DDI. This policy provides clear guidelines for students regarding cancellations and their options for refunds or credits based on the timing of the cancellation. It also outlines DDI's rights and responsibilities in the event of class cancellations or postponements. Students are encouraged to review and understand this policy before enrolling in classes or workshops at DDI. 7. Image and Recording Release: Students acknowledge that their images may be used for various purposes by DDI and waive any rights to inspect or approve the final product. They also waive any rights to royalties or compensation related to image or recording use. 8. Pets: Pets are not allowed on DDI/Ralph’s premises. 9. Equipment and Supplies: Students are responsible for the repair and maintenance costs of any equipment they damage. They are also responsible for bringing their own supplies, though limited supplies are available for use within reason. 10. Parking: DDI/Ralphs reserves the right to limit or charge for parking, and students are responsible for any parking violations or charges. 11. Space Usage: DDI/Ralphs can limit space usage for various reasons, and during such times, certain resources may be restricted or not permitted. 12. Code of Conduct: Students are expected to follow a code of conduct, which includes cleaning up after themselves, keeping workspaces organized, observing safety precautions, and respecting the rights and property of others. 13. Intellectual Property: DDI/Ralphs does not claim responsibility for protecting intellectual property and encourages community self-regulation in this regard. 14. Theft and Borrowing: Students are prohibited from stealing, borrowing, or removing DDI supplies or belongings of others. 15. Ethical Standards: DDI has adopted a code of ethics and accountability for its board members, staff, and volunteers. The code emphasizes ethical behavior and encourages disclosure of potential conflicts of interest. 16. Compliance and Monitoring: DDI's Board of Directors is responsible for communicating and enforcing the Code of Ethics among its members, staff, interns, volunteers, and members. This agreement serves to clarify the rights, responsibilities, and expectations of both students and DDI while using the organization's resources and facilities. Students are expected to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in the agreement to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
